Teens of the Year Scholarship Fund

In 2021, YWCA Bethlehem made changes to our long-standing scholarship program to recognize the diversity of today’s young women and their educational goals and paths. YWCA Bethlehem now offers three different scholarship opportunities for high school seniors in the Allentown and Bethlehem Area School Districts:

The Educational Empowerment Award ($1,000) is our traditional Teen of the Year Award. Students can be nominated by guidance counselors, community service coordinators, or faculty advisors for student activities and clubs.  Up to four of these awards will be awarded annually.

A Path Forward Award ($1,000 per year for 2 years) is a scholarship program for young women pursuing 2-year Associates degree at Northampton Community College or Lehigh Carbon Community College.  Students can be self-nominated or nominated by counselors, community service coordinators, or faculty advisors.

YWCA Mission Award ($1,000 per year for 4 years) is a scholarship program for racially and ethnically diverse students that are active in areas that align with the YWCA’s mission to eliminate racism and empower women. Students can be self-nominated or nominated by counselors, community service coordinators, or faculty advisors.  YWCA Bethlehem will also offer a mentoring experience with an adult female mentor whose career/interests align with the student.
