Welcome to the Adult Day Service Center at YWCA Bethlehem

The YWCA Bethlehem Adult Day Services Center works with families on providing the best level of professional care for seniors. We understand that families need better options for parents or grandparents suffering from debilitating conditions associated with memory impairment. We have been providing adult daycare services for the Lehigh Valley for over 34 years and pride ourselves on providing the utmost dignity and respect to our program members. At the YWCA Bethlehem Adult Day Services Center, we feel that no one should age alone and understand that opportunities to connect with others and have a fulfilling day become more of a challenge. Our experienced and compassionate team is here to help! We work with program members and their families on individualizing supports based on each person’s unique strengths and needs. The team at the YWCA Bethlehem provides a calm, supportive environment for your loved one. Contact us to find out more about how our services can provide support. Membership is available for full or half day schedules. Let’s discuss your individual needs. We are conveniently located in the heart of the Lehigh Valley, off of Rt 22 and Rt 512 in Bethlehem.

Healthy Aging:  The importance of socialization

Socialization plays a large role in maintaining a quality of life as one ages.  Research has shown that older adults who have strong social networks have a higher quality of life, live longer and are healthier compared to those with little social support. Our center enables aging adults to remain active and engaged within a compassionate and caring community of peers and professional caregivers.  The social aspect of the Adult Day Services Center is a key element to our approach to healthy aging, and it simply cannot be attained by one-on-one home-based care.

What will my loved one do at adult daycare?

Perhaps the better question is what won’t they do! Our daily, weekly and monthly activities range from chair aerobics, crafts and cooking to live music performances, holiday parties and pet therapy. Trivia and thinking puzzles promote cognitive health while adaptive sports such as bowling and balloon volleyball help program members maintain their physical strength and agility.  All program members enjoy nutritious meals and snacks, and are encouraged to participate in daily activities to the best of their abilities.  Our on-site registered nurse provides regular health monitoring. Our aides can administer medication and assist with self-care as needed.

Can my loved one attend?

Adults 60 years of age or older can join us. We are LGBT-friendly and welcome all genders.  The Adult Day Services Center provides a loving “second home” for provides safe, licensed care and a structured and stimulating environment that meets the needs of seniors living with disabilities.  Our staff supports success and independence for individuals living with Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s and many other cognitive or physical disabilities.  Programs members must  be able to travel safely to and from the program with either a family member or by LANta Van Services.

“Just because we age doesn’t mean we stop developing as a person. Regardless of a cognitive decline, our members are very interested in trying new things and meeting new people which is why we strive to provide excellent opportunities to participate in the arts, music, and friendship. Our members’ happiness is a testament to the great work we do. We take a lot of pride in knowing that we made someone’s day a lot more meaningful.”
