The YWCA of Bethlehem, with our partners, The Bethlehem Housing Authority and Bethlehem Health Bureau, is working to increase mammography utilization among the women, between 40 and 60 years old, who live in the following Bethlehem Housing Communities: Marvine, Lynfield, Parkridge, Pembroke, Fairmont and Pfeifle. The Neighbor to Neighbor Program promotes awareness about the benefits of mammography and addresses individual knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs concerning breast cancer and mammography. This program is funded by Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Philadelphia.
In addition, the YWCA of Bethlehem will be running the Friend to Friend Program (similar to the Neighbor to Neighbor Program) in the Allentown area starting summer 2010.
